Stock Market Analysis Wrap Up Aug 1st Week 2016

Good morning, hope you had a great trading week and a great day ahead.

From now on I think I will be putting each day's analysis on its own separate page because the amount of charts that are loaded are a lot and to have one whole week's analysis on one page is just crazy loading. Anyway, we had a great bull day in the last trading session and as I am writing this, Asia is also up thanks to the upbeat jobs report.

Things are looking brighter and brighter for the bulls and I expect a continuation unless some big gap down occurs. The bulls have won the war on the trading range. So we just follow the trend higher. And a rising stock market is good for an incumbent government in the US. So, the winner of the 2016 Presidential Election is likely and more and more positive to be Hillary Clinton. The stock market agrees to this and expects a Clinton victory. Not only that, the polls by non market participants show a rising support for Clinton and decline in support for Trump.

I wrote a piece titled Why Hillary Clinton Will Be The Next US President. How The Stock Market Has Correctly Predicted Elections In US & Around The World.   You might want to check the article out and learn how the amazing the stock market is in predicting elections around the world.

Well, I'll stop talking now. Let's take a look at what the charts are telling...

There you have it, the weekly stock market wrap up. In the hands of a talented trader, all this information will give them an edge and provide many trading opportunities in the coming days, weeks and even months. Some of you who read this may be confused, but don't worry it's pretty simple, I take a top down approach to stock market analysis.
  1. First I look at the major indexes
  2. Then I look at the sectors and industries
  3. Then I look individual stocks
  4. Then I look at the dollar
  5. Then I look at the commodities
  6. Then I find setups in the 60 min chart
Its kinda fun analyzing the market like this. You get to see the market in a 3 dimensional way and it is a jigsaw puzzle that is continuously evolving giving flexible traders the opportunities to profit from the market. My analysis and work is influenced by many great traders which include Linda Bradford Raschke who gives good trading advice, Paul Tudor Jones, Mark Weinstein, Ed Seykota who influenced me the importance of following the trend. Jim Rogers who looks at the market as a big jigsaw puzzle and show us that the markets are interrelated. Thanks to John Murphy as well who wrote a big super book on Intermarket Analysis.

Okay, for the beginner what does all these charts mean?

In summary:
  • The bulls have won the trading battle and have gone above the trading range. Stocks and the indexes should move higher from here.
  • Start looking for sectors that are making bullish patterns and find trading setups.
