If You Want To Start Something, Think About The Privileges And Not The Problems
This is my cute Britney. She's noisy, barks (screams) and likes to run around the house non stop.
I remember the day when the puppy owner brought her to my house. She's so cute. But then my mom keep on objecting me to get it. After all I already have 2 dogs. and getting a puppy is a serious commitment, something like adopting a son or getting married. You have to take care of it for the rest of its life. You just can't abandon it if you don't feel like having it anymore.
Oh, the number of problems and things that could go wrong. And yes there were. Pee, poo, earphones get destroyed. I suppose my mom was right.
Fast forward one year later. We realized that Britney has an amazing way to make people laugh and be happy. Despite all the pee and poo and destruction, I never regretted it.
If you asked me, I wouldn't have it any other way.
The funny thing was, what my mom objected the most, actually made her smile and be happy. Of all the 3 dogs I have, Britney became the apple of her eye. It brought joy and life to the house. She still says that Britney is "mafan", but deep inside we know that she has grown fond of Britney.
Well, a puppy is really a joy giver.
The lesson I guess is this. So many people when they want to start something will think of the problems that they face. The number of things that could go wrong. When others barrage you with a machine gun of questions you begin to have doubts too.
Instead of starting with the problems, one should think of the privileges. If you start with the problems, you'll be finished. Rather start with the privileges and think about the happiness and joy ahead.
Thinking of adopting a puppy? Don't start with the problems, start with the privileges.
