Intermarket Analysis By Stephen Loke

This is an area where the Professional differ from the market beginner. The battle hardened investor and trader will study different markets and they know what to expect. You see, the markets are all interrelated. That's because investors and traders are always seeking for the best places to invest or trade. For example, when the stock market crashes, investors tend to shift their money to safe havens like Gold. So, there is always a constant rotation between different markets.

Intermarket analysis is pretty new to me. People like John Murphy whom you should check out at Stockcharts.com are the acknowledged expert in this area. Anyway, as I write this I learn more and also hope that you benefit from my analysis as well.

Intermarket analysis involves markets that are moving slowly but surely and are making changes to the market place slowly. You might not see the effect in a day or two but over the weeks and months, one market tend to affect the other. So, we will be using weekly charts and I will be posting one Intermarket analysis per week for the time being.
